Wildmender (2023) - ★★½ i really wanted to check out the terraforming but couldn’t bear slogging through the first 2 hours. the movement is goofy, combat is boring, there’s a bunch of fetch quests. im sure there’s a way around all this stuff and maybe i’ll come back and check it out but mostly it feels amateur(*) and incredibly slow. i’m not playing it with friends, i only like this genre of thing a bit, so i’m not predisposed to it at all. a deadly trifecta.
(*) it’s not literally an amateur work though! This is the studio that did Guns of Icarus, which similarly was a novel idea wrapped in an unexciting execution
